There are actually books written on the subject of free home cure alls found in the kitchen. Needless to say, there are too many to make a justifiable list of any sort. However, the commonest ones can be easily identified and listed here as well.


Garlic is the most popular catch all cure for just about everything. It has anti septic and healing properties which can help to cure anything from a cold and cough to infections. Ginger is the best available cure for a sore throat and it is also known to promote healthy digestion.


Honey works excellently on sore throats as well as asthma. Holy basil is particularly useful in taking care of congestion as well as bringing down a fever. Turmeric powder is a natural anti septic which can be used to heal just about everything. It can be added to food as a spice as well as a flavoring to warm milk and consumed. It can also be topically applied on open cuts and wounds. Turmeric powder is one of the best healing agents found in the kitchen. Parsley is an excellent deodorizer.
