Remedy To Treat Nail Fungi

Nail Fungis?
(13 Feb 2009)

Nail fungus is an unsightly and unpleasant problem, which may not hurt much, but looks particularly ugly. This is true especially if you have discolored or distorted nails due to the problem having been around for too long a time. The thing to do is to start taking care of the problem quickly, so that it does not aggravate into something bigger.

The first thing to do if you have nail fungus is to cleanse your nails effectively and well. You can use a solution of one part organic vinegar, one part hydrogen peroxide and five parts water to do this. It will effectively clean as well as mildly bleach your nails. You will find this method particularly useful if you have developed discoloration of the nail. One of the best ways to take care of nail fungus is to apply highly mentholated substances, for instance topical ointments used to treat cold symptoms to it. You can apply thick layers of it on, under and around your toes. This will effectively choke the fungal infection and thus get rid of it efficiently and quickly. The menthol will work towards not allowing the fungus to get any air supply. If you follow this remedy for a couple of days, you will see that the infection will disappear quite easily and effortlessly.

Another excellent remedy for nail fungus is to apply thick layers of tea tree oil to it. You should preferably do this and leave it on overnight so that it works all night and you are rid of most of the problem by morning. Tea tree oil is an anti fungal, anti bacterial and anti septic product which will work at killing any live organisms present in your infection. You can also apply a layer of turmeric powder mixed with clarified butter to your infected nail. This will help it to heal faster, as turmeric powder has that property.
