Sun poisoning is a form of extreme sunburn and occurs when the skin reacts badly to the UV rays of the sun. This condition is also diagnosed as photodermatitis. It is also possible that this condition might be caused by a reaction to some medication that you are taking or even some cosmetic products that you might be using.

Hence it is very important that you analyse your symptoms correctly and test yourself by undergoing a photo test. The most common symptoms of sun poisoning are a burning sensation in the affected areas, swelling of the affected areas, and a rash which causes the skin to itch severely. You could also experience some nausea and your skin could also start peeling.

It is also possible for your breathing and pulse rate to increase and for you to experience dizziness and fatigue. If you experience these symptoms, contact your health care professional at once.

The first thing you must do is to keep out of the sun until your symptoms have subsided. Ensure that you cover the affected areas. If your case of sun poisoning is localized, as in just on your lips, you can care for this condition easily. One method that will bring immediate relief is for you to split an aloe leaf into two and apply this on your lips. This will ease the burning sensation and will hydrate your burnt skin. You can also apply a cloth soaked in cool water on your lips to keep them hydrated. You should use cool water for this. You can also soak a cloth in equal parts of water and milk and apply it to your lips. While you are suffering from sun poisoning, ensure that you avoid bath salts and fragrant bath products because these may produce an adverse reaction and worsen your condition.
