Infectious mononucleosis is a disease most common among teenagers or young adults and is also known as mono or glandular fever. The disease is generally spread through kissing or sexual activity and for this reason is popularly referred to as the "kissing disease". This is a viral infection and the disease is caused by the Epstein-Barr Virus.
This virus is generally transmitted through contact with saliva that is infected.
