First of all, make sure that you do not try to go on any fad diet to try and lose belly weight. Most of these diets are extreme and even if you lose weight, you will be severely malnourished. Follow a healthy diet that includes a lot of raw fruits and vegetables.

These raw foods have a relatively low calorific value and are very high in vitamins and minerals. In addition to this they are high in fibre which means that they aid in digestion as well as they leave you feeling quite full. Try to eliminate all excess fatty and fried foods from your diet.

Instead of a high calorie snack, you can have a salad or bowl of mixed fruits. Try to ensure that at least one of your daily meals consists of a salad. Do not avoid all fats as a certain amount is essential. Your diet should include avocados as they are high in monosaturated (good) fats as well as nutrients.

Although a good diet is extremely important, it is essential that you have a regular exercise schedule as well it is essential that your weight loss programme must be based on both a healthy diet and regular exercise. If you have not exercised in a long time, I suggest that you start off slowly and increase both the duration as well as the intensity of your daily workout sessions. Make sure that you warm up before your workout to avoid straining your muscles. Include leg lifts in your exercise schedule. This simple exercise helps to tone up abdominal muscles. Crunches and reverse crunches are essential to your workout as they work out your lower abdominal. You can also try jumping rope as it will burn a lot of calories and will help to tone your body.
