Lower back pain is commonly associated with strains, muscle tension and injury. While muscle strains or tension can be treated quite easily, back pain resulting from an injury or repeated injuries is very serious and must be referred to a specialist as soon as possible. Repeated back or spinal injuries can cause the spinal discs to thin or deteriorate.
In relatively uncommon cases, a disc may even rupture. There is a very big possibility that your lower back problem stems from poor postural habits.
Poor posture causes undue stress on the spinal discs as well as muscular tension.
This results in moderate to severe pain in the lower back area. You should not have to lean forward while sitting at your work desk. If you catch yourself leaning forward and peering at your computer screen, you should get your eyes checked. Make sure that your back is resting comfortable against the chair and that your shoulders are not slumped.
Nutritional deficiencies and the lack of a regular exercise schedule often contribute significantly to back problems. Make sure that you have a healthy diet that includes plenty of raw foods. Fruits and vegetables contain many nutrients and minerals and so you should try to include them in your daily diet. Make sure that you eat yogurt at least every other day (if not daily). Yogurt contains probiotics which are basically bacteria that aid in digestion and promote intestinal wellbeing. Eating yogurt ensures that nutrient absorption is at its maximum.
There are various exercises like Yoga, pilates that will help to strengthen your lower back muscles. Make sure that you proceed with your exercises at a slow pace to give your muscles the time to grow stronger. If you are not cautious, you could land up straining your back and causing even further damage.
