Suffering from bacterial prostatitis for last 4 years
(18 Aug 2008)

Bacterial prostatitis that has stuck around for a period of four years may be classified as chronic. While a cure for this ailment would only be provided by a doctor who would administer proper medical procedures as well as medication for you, what you can do yourself is follow some healthy practices so that you do not suffer from the problem any more than you have to. It is just a simple matter of making a few basic changes in your lifestyle, which are fairly easy to do and inexpensive as well.

The first thing you must regulate is your sex life. For your prostate gland to function normally, it is essential that you have sex with a frequency that fits in accordance with your age. In order to know what that is, you must consult a general doctor who would be able to tell you the appropriate figure for sexual activity at your age. If for some reason you are unable to have sex, make it a point to masturbate with regularity. This will keep your prostate glad functional, active and prevent you from developing any further disorders as well.

You should also start drinking excessive water on a daily basis. Try to drink at least about 10 to 15 liters of water everyday - this will improve functioning of your prostate gland considerably. This will basically make you go to the bathroom more frequently, which is always a good thing for not just your prostate but also the kidneys as well as the urinary tract. Try to completely eliminate alcohol, caffeine and all caffeine-related products from your diet, as all of them will only add to your problems and not in any way lessen them. It would also be a good idea to avoid excessive spices and up your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
