Natural treatment for eczema on hands

Is it true that maintaining eczema (dry cracked hands) needs to be treated internally with fish oils and omega rather than externally applying lotions and creams?

Fish oil supplements are a main source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids which are very healthy in nature and have been consumed by millions of people worldwide. Another remedy would be to consume red clover which has been a traditional approach in curing eczema for many generations.
