There are different types of brain cysts, like arachnoid cysts, dermoid cysts, epidermoid cysts, colloid cysts and Rathke's cleft cysts. The symptoms that they display vary, depending on their size, location and the speed at which they grow. Since you have not mentioned which kind of a cyst you have and other details about the cyst it is impossible to say with any level of certainty if there is a link between the buzzing sound that you have experienced and your brain cyst.

Even if it is in keeping with the other symptoms that you experience and could be related to your tumor this is not necessarily the case and it could just be caused by a ear infection or another disorder. The only way to be absolutely certain is by consulting your general physician and having it diagnosed accurately.

The buzzing sound that you are experiencing is also known as tinnitus and is associated with acoustic neuroma, which is a type of benign brain tumor.

This is a tumor that affects the acoustic or the eighth cranial nerve, which is the nerve of hearing. This nerve is situated in the posterior fossa, and is in the angle between the pons and the cerebellum.

Acoustic neuromas generally occur in middle aged adults, with women being more susceptible to this type of tumor than males. Loss of hearing or impaired hearing in one ear, and ringing or buzzing in the ear, which is known as tinnitus are commonly experienced. At times these symptoms may also be accompanied by feelings of dizziness.

At times the tumor may also affect the seventh nerve facial nerve causing a loss of sensation in the facial areas and or facial paralysis. There could also be symptoms like impaired eye movement, difficulty in swallowing, taste disturbances, and unsteadiness. Surgical removal is generally possible and is the most commonly used method of treatment.
