Cerebral palsy is a disorder that occurs just after a child is born, or during the birthing process. This occurs due to reasons such as trauma or injury to the fetus, delivery complications, infections that the mother may have had while she was pregnant or, in some rare cases, a genetic chromosomal disorder. The last one is a reason that will manifest itself in the womb itself and can also be detected early, via genetic testing.

But sometimes, the damage is done in the child even before it is born. But for most part, modern medicine has ways of detecting it if this problem will occur in any fetus. Early genetic testing will reveal whether or not your child is going to be suffering from cerebral palsy or any other such problem.

But once the child is born, all kinds of medical streams have very little they can offer to treat the condition. As a matter of fact, there is very little that can be done by way of help once the child is born and the condition has overtly manifested itself.

Physiotherapy is a tool often used to arrest the growth of muscular palsy in these patients as well. It helps them to keep muscles active and prevents them from atrophying. Sometimes, they suffer from fits, which can only be controlled by modern medications. Sadly, Ayurveda and Homeopathy have absolutely no solutions to offer for curing cerebral palsy either. Depending upon the degree of damage, the patient can also use speech, visual and hearing therapies to help them achieve the goal of a better life. Sometimes, surgery is also highly recommended in some cases. Mostly, this is in severe cases where it is believed that surgery will do some good. But for most part, doctors tend to avoid this as well.
