Curing a toothache would depend upon why you have the toothache in the first place. If the ache is internal, has lasted for more than a week and you do not know the cause, you are better off going to a dentist and getting your teeth examined. Once you know the reason for your toothache, it becomes relatively easier to take care of it without causing any inadvertent damage of any kind.

One of the best remedies for taking care of toothache is to crush mint leaves and apply them to the aching tooth. This will ensure that you get relief from the pain as well as ascertain that your mouth is sanitized, as mint leaves have the property to do so. Clove oil is the best solution for an aching tooth.

If possible, look for toothpaste that contains clove oil and stick with it for a few months. This will also generally improve the health of your teeth. If you cannot find the toothpaste, try to put clove oil on the aching tooth directly. This should help with the ache considerably. If you cannot find the oil either, then you can simply clamp a clove down on the aching tooth and let it remain there for as much time as you can. The clove will release its own juices and will help to fight the toothache.

You must make sure you do not have a tooth infection of any kind, because if you do, it will spread from one tooth to another and you certainly do not want that. To check this spread, if you do not know about the infection especially, you can make a rinse of tea tree oil and use it twice a day. Use one cup of distilled water and add half a teaspoon of tea tree oil to it. You can store this, and shake it well before each use.
