If you have been prescribed the medicines you have listed here by a doctor and they are working effectively to keep your problem in check, there is absolutely no reason why you should not continue to follow the same course of treatment. As to how long you should take the medication, that would depend entirely on your condition and how well and fast you are recovering. Also, the best person to guide you on the duration of treatment would be the same doctor who has prescribed in the first place. You must not hesitate to ask such questions to your physician.
If you wish to stop taking these medicines for some reason, then you should know that there are some simple alternatives that are quite easily available for you to choose from. Urticaria is a simple case of hives that occur due to excessive sweating, heat or friction, or strong allergies to something. If possible, you should zero down on the reason you are affected with the problem in order to come up with an effective sure for it as well. To make matters simple and ease your irritation, however, you can apply a paste made of rose water and sandalwood to the itchiest areas. This will provide instant relief. Alternately, you can also apply calamine lotion, which is cooler than rose water in its properties. Ice packs or a soak in a cool bath to which some milk has been added are two methods that will provide relief for some time as well. If you can get your hands on tamarind paste, you can also apply this to particularly itchy areas. Remember to add a bit of turmeric powder to it, for sanitizing your skin as well. This will help to heal the condition and will also absorb any common allergens that may be affecting you out of your skin.
