Bacterial vaginosis home treatment, Bacterial vaginitis symptoms and causes

Hi, since few months, after my menstrual cycle is almost complete, I feel itching & uncomfortness in my vaginal area. Can any one help me out? Thanks a lot

Maybe you can try yogurt because most antibiotics and antifungals can upset your natural bacteria balance- since you need the good bacteria also.

The itching and discomfort that you are experiencing is due to the increase in the growth or the overproduction of lactobacilli in your vagina. This is the normal flora of the vagina and an imbalance in the growth of this flora in the vagina causes it to become very acidic. The increased acidity eventually leads to the sensation of itching and discomfort. The important factor to note is that it starts when the alkaline nature of your blood starts to bring about a change in the PH levels of your vagina. The unbalanced ph levels are the main cause. The treatment of this disorder is relatively simple. However the itching sensation can also be caused due to the bacteria (external) that has been trapped under too may layers of clothing for too long. This leads to a build up of moisture and warmth which creates the perfect conditions for the growth of a bacterial infection that could range from bacterial vaginitis to trichomoniasis to a simple yeast infection. The itching could also be due to an allergy caused by a chemical in the soap used and gets triggered when the there is an imbalance of the lactobacillius

As mentioned earlier the treatment is simple and can be done at home however if you symptoms persist the best thing to do is consult your doctor as to what might be the exact cause of the problem and what kind of medication will be most effective. In order to treat yourself at home try a baking soda douche every alternate day for about a week when the symptoms appear and then take a sitz bath using baking soda at least two three times a week. Avoid using a tampon until your symptoms clear out completely. The treatment will take time to be effective, and requires time to act.
