Gray hair is generally looked upon as a result of the natural aging process, but premature greying can be a problem for the younger generation. Premature greying is largely caused because of a poor diet and stress. Heredity is another common cause which is obviously not the cause in this case.

However, it can also be caused by a medical condition or if you suffer from a deficiency in B12 or a thyroid imbalance. Deficiency in almost any of the B complex vitamins, copper, iron, or iodine in your daily diet could also be a cause.

A healthy diet is the most important factor in the prevention and treatment of the condition and persons suffering from the disorder should make sure that their diet is wholesome with a rich supply of all the essential nutrients.

Devitalizing foods like refined sugar, white flour and almost all products that are made from them should be avoided. You should also avoid consumption of any soft drinks, jams, pastries and jellies. These foods deplete your energy, cause grey hair, wrinkles, unattractive skin and premature old age. Try to include foods that are rich in vitamin B in particular in your diet or you can have them in the supplement form.
