There are several easy remedies you can follow at home to get rid of a yeast infection. A word of caution, however - for a child so small, you would be better off consulting with a doctor before you decide to take matters into your own hands and try to treat the child at home. Sometimes, it is better to treat infants medically so that the problem is taken care of quickly and effectively, instead of using home methods.

One of the easiest ways to cure yeast infections is to topically apply fresh and unflavored yogurt to them. This usually takes care of the problem quite effectively and well. The active bacteria present in yogurt will feed off the yeast infection and destroy the fungus present there effectively. You can also do this as often as you want, since it has absolutely no side effects or other related problems. You can also use a mixture of dilutes hydrogen peroxide to clean the infected area. Make a solution of one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with 20 tablespoons of water and use this. Remember not to use a stronger concentration, as this could harm the baby's delicate skin. In order to soothe the child, and if you notice redness or itching in the area, wash with cool water which will also help to ease the irritation.
