Home Remedies for Hair Loss
Just like for other body parts, a balanced diet, adequate intake of fluids, proper exercise and a relatively stress-free lifestyle are beneficial for the hair. Your diet should include Vitamins A, B and C, iron, sulphur, copper, zinc and calcium. Consume plenty of fresh green vegetables, carrots, soybean, mango, dried apricots, whole grain cereals, sprouts, lentils, yeast, wheat germ and milk to keep your hair healthy and lustrous.
Remember your hair reflects you general health. Weak, brittle thinning hair can be a sign of thyroid problems, hormonal dysfunctions, anaemia or emotional stress. Early greying can either be hereditary or a sign of hormonal problems, heart problem, pancreas dysfunction, diabetes, high acidity, stress and constant fatigue.
For your hair problems, treat you hair to gentle shampoos and avoid all harsh chemical hair products. Do not expose your hair to harsh weather conditions or chemical products. You can wash you hair with a home made shampoo of dried acacia concinna, indian gooseberry and sapindus mucorosai boiled in some water in an iron vessel. Regular use of this shampoo not only cures dandruff, but also improves the general health of the hair. Indian gooseberry provides nourishment to the hair, strengthening the hair from the roots and treating premature greying as well, so it can even be consumed whole or in the form of juice. You should also regularly massage your scalp with warm coconut or almond oil to make your hair stronger and shinier.
