Swollen lips remedies

I bit my lip and it got infected. Now it swells up periodically and fills with a puss-like fluid. What do I do to cure it?

Home Remedies for Lip Infection

What you describe sounds like a simple oral ulcer, not something to really worry about. Sometimes a break in the skin of the lip due to trauma can eventually turn into an ulcer or blister. The blister usually heals on its own, but you need to be careful not to irritate it further, either by touching it constantly or by using food or other substances that can aggravate it.

If you continue to develop blisters in the same spot, it is probably because you are not giving the blister a chance to heal properly once and for all. You should avoid spicy food for a week, and in addition, avoid consuming tobacco in any form. It is also a good idea to avoid alcohol while the blister is healing, as it also has a tendency to irritate blisters. Apart from this, good oral hygiene is necessary in order to minimize the presence of bacteria in the mouth. Brushing your teeth twice a day may be a little painful when you have a blister, but it should be done, taking the time to do it carefully. In addition, you can rinse your mouth with an antibacterial mouthwash twice a day. If within two weeks the blister still does not disappear or keeps returning, you should get it examined by your doctor.
