Natural Cures For Toothache

Toothaches are an extremely common problem and they have a number of possible causes. Some of the common causes of toothaches are tooth decay, an abscess or tooth infection, which could spread from the root to the supporting bones, a tooth that has not emerged completely through the gums, and gum problems. While home remedies are effective to relieve the symptoms they do not treat the problem itself or the underlying cause.

It’s important to remember that the toothache is just a symptom and not the disorder itself. Accordingly treating the toothache alone is not enough and your dentist would be best equipped to guide you once examined.

Some remedies that you could try out until visit your dentist include the following:
  • Chewing cloves or rubbing clove oil into the affected area on the gum or tooth helps relieve the pain and if the infection is mild or on the surface I can also help fight it.
  • Take a mixture of pepper powder and common salt and apply it to the aching tooth for quick relief.
  • You could also soak a piece of cotton with some lime juice and asafetida powder and hold it against the aching tooth and gum.
