Symptoms of Stomach Diseases
Stomach viruses are commonly the ones that are responsible for causing stomach flu. Their name is an anomaly, since they actually reside in the intestine and not in the stomach at all! However, there are certain symptoms that will clearly indicate the presence of these viruses.
It is important to note that for most part, the problem of stomach flu follows a life span of about a day or two and disappears on its own. If it sticks, it can become a chronic problem and develop into gastroenteritis.
The symptoms are very typical, and they usually manifest themselves after about two to three days of the virus having resided in the system. This is to state that when the virus follows a day or so of its normal life and still does not die out, then it shows signs. The most obvious sign of stomach virus is extreme weakness caused by sudden and acute diarrhea. This is also the first symptom to occur. Normally, it may also be accompanied with dehydration which is a common side effect of diarrhea. Sometimes, the patient may also suffer from vomiting, which will basically add to the dehydration. If it persists for a couple of days, this combination of symptoms can also cause fever.
