Headache home treatment

If you have a persistent headache that has lasted for over a couple of weeks, you need to first consult a doctor about this. Long lasting headaches can be indicative of other things and are actually seen as medical harbingers of trouble. In order to get relief from headaches, it is always best to try to sleep them off first.

Usually, this is the most helpful remedy for headaches. If you can, darken a room by drawing the drapes and shutting the windows. This will help tremendously by giving you peaceful and restful sleep.

Sometimes, dehydration can also lead to a headache. Try to increase your water intake and see if this makes a difference to you. Indigestion is also one of the causes of a headache. You can take care of this by avoiding fried and spicy foods for a while. This should make a huge difference. You can also drink a glass of cool water to which a few crushed peppermint leaves have been added. This will help to heal the digestive tract and provide relief. Try to exercise, as this can also take away pounding in the head. Exercise releases hormones that will make you feel better overall as well.
