Home remedies for Bacterial Vaginitis

Since you have not mentioned any other symptoms, I'm assuming that you do not have any accompanying sores, boils, rash etc. What you are suffering from is termed as vaginitis which is the irritation and inflammation of the vulva that is generally caused by a bacterial, fungal or yeast infection.

To combat any infection, Wash yourself as often as possible with warm (almost hot) water and an antibacterial soap. It is best to avoid using regular scented or perfumed soaps as they can cause further irritation.

Since salt has antiseptic properties, use a mug of warm saline solution to rinse yourself. Bacteria, fungus and yeasts require moisture to survive and so using an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal powder will not only fight the infection but will also deprive the bacteria/fungus of its natural moist environment.

Make sure that you do not use panties made out of any synthetic material as long as you have this problem, you can use comfortable cotton undergarments instead.

Using tampons allow micro organisms to thrive within the vagina and so I would suggest that you avoid using tampons.

Vaginal mucus contains lactobacilli which are essentially good bacteria that help to prevent infections. Eating foods like Yogurt that contain lactobacilli will help to fight off any infection. If your problem persists, visit a gynecologist.
