Sprained Ankle Treatment

Before there were docs. What is the natural remedy for a broken ankle? I don't have insurance so that's why I'm here?

Alternative cures for Sprained Ankle

Doctors have existed for hundreds of years in some form or the other. Even before the development of modern science there were people whose job it was to treat those who were ill or injured. Before there were doctors, people simply suffered and often died from even the most minor of illnesses and injuries. This was quite certainly also the case with early doctors, who did not have as much knowledge of how the human body worked.

In any case, coming to your broken ankle - it is not clear whether you have actually broken something or are simply referring to a sprain. If you have only sprained your ankle, you simply need to give it a lot of rest. For the first 10 days in particular you need to stay off your feet entirely, and after that, avoid straining your ankle too much for a couple of months. Sprains do however take a long time to heal and sometimes require physiotherapy, so if you do not visit a doctor, you might end up with a lifelong walking impediment. The same goes for a fracture - the bone will eventually heal on its own, but if it is not set properly, you will have difficult using that foot for the rest of your life.
