Information on Body Hair Removal Techniques
Today there is a wide range of options available for you to choose from if you want to remove body hair. Your choice will of course depend on several factors, such as where the hair is located, how thick it is, the appearance you are aiming at, and the amount of pain you are willing or able to take. Some hair removal techniques are certainly quite painful - waxing, for example.
This is particularly so if the hair is thick, as is the case with underarm hair, for example.
Hair removal methods are basically of two types - those that remove the entire hair, right from the root, and those that cut or break the hair at the surface of the skin, leaving the root and a bit of the shaft under the surface. The former is known as depilation, and tends to be more painful - it includes techniques such as waxing, which is commonly used for hair on the legs but is sometimes also used on other parts of the body such as the underarms; threading, which is usually done for the eyebrows and hair on the upper lip; and simply plucking hair with a pair of tweezers. Today mechanical epilators are also available, which make the task much simpler. Depilatory techniques include shaving and depilatory creams and powders, which dissolve hair above the surface of the skin. These chemicals should not be used on the face, but can quite safely be used for the underarms and legs.
