Causes & Cure of Vomiting Vomiting or throwing up is something that every individual has experienced at some point of time. This can have a wide variety of causes. Common reasons for vomiting include excessive consumption of alcohol, over eating, acid reflux, stomach virus, pregnancy or illness.
Some other causes that are not as common include, brain tumours, brain injury, stomach cancer, intestinal blockage, or appendicitis. When being treated for an illness, vomiting can even be caused as a side effect to a number of different medications or even from motion sickness. On Many cases vomiting itself is not a bad thing, and it is more important to address the cause. Controlling or suppressing the urge to vomit may simply prolong the feeling of wanting to throw up, so at times it is better to go with what your body needs and it can be over with a lot quicker.
There are however times when it may be necessary to prevent vomiting as when in a weakened state, in which it would be important to keep food or nutrition in or oral medications. Some common remedies that you could try include drinking a glass of warm or room temperature ginger ale. This will help sooth your stomach if queasy. A glass of ginger tea had without sugar can also help.
