Hepatitis C has little or no symptoms that show up when a person is infected. The symptoms are also often mistaken to be due to other causes and hence go untreated. This leads to a very diseased liver and permanent liver damage.
The symptoms of hepatitis c include the appearance of fatigue, headaches, nausea and even the loss of memory from time to time. The infection generally spreads through the blood. There is no vaccine available to fight the hepatitis C virus and the only way to fight is through the use of preventive measures.
The best way to combat hepatitis C is keep up the practice of proper nutrition as everything that is eaten or dunk is processed directly by the liver. Therefore the foods eaten should include a lot of anti-oxidants, vitamins and the most important of all- fiber. For this a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast comes highly recommended as it contains all the above nutrients. The result is a stronger immune system that can effectively fight off bacteria and viruses from creating further damage. The fiber is important as lowers the amount of toxins that have to be processed by the liver and helps keep the blood sugar level stable (many patients suffering from the c virus also stand the chance of developing diabetes.)
