When trying to conceive you will need to keep in mind certain factors which can possibly hamper your chances of a baby. These measures will help ensures that the chances of conceiving for you are higher and they will help protect the overall health of the fetus as well when it is conceived. The most important factor to keep in mind is to be fit physically and mentally as it increases your chances of getting pregnant by increasing your fertility levels.
Makes sure you have no stress during this period as it lowers your sex drive. Eat a healthy as low levels of nutrition have been known to lower fertility levels. Study your monthly cycles and time your efforts to conceive just before you can start ovulating. There are ovulation predictor kits available that can help figure out when you are ovulating.
Folic acid is an ingredient that is used by your body to make the extra blood needed during pregnancy. Generally consuming a very small amount of folic acid (about 300-400 mg) when trying to conceive is thought to be beneficial. Folate is a B vitamin that is found in liver and green leafy vegetables e.g. spinach. At all cost avoid the temptation to smoke as it drastically reduces your chances. Caffeine also has an impact on fertility levels; try to avoid it as much as possible. Do not consume excess amounts of alcohol as it is known to cause disorders in the ovulation process.
