Advice on weight Loss
Before getting into what you can do to lose weight, one thing that needs to be pointed out is that weight is not the only consideration when gauging whether one is overweight. In itself, 74 kgs does not seem to be much – only if this weight is too much for your height should you try to lose weight. Many people today aim for unrealistic ideals as far as weight and figure are concerned; be sure that you are not making this mistake.
If you are indeed overweight, you should mainly cut down on fats in your diet. Use less oil in your cooking, use low fat products as far as possible, and avoid trans fats and saturated fats in particular. In addition, avoid sugary foods and drinks as well, as they only give you empty calories.
Complex carbohydrates and proteins are fine, but down on meat and alcohol, and eat more fruits and vegetables. Do not entirely cut out any food group or type of food, as not only is this unhealthy, but you will not be able to sustain this for long. Instead of abstinence, use restraint; you should also eat several smaller meals rather than a few large meals, and ensure that breakfast is the heaviest while dinner is the lightest.
As far as exercise goes, you need to decide what suits you – any strenuous workout for 45 minutes to an hour daily is excellent, whether it is cycling, walking, swimming, aerobics, or anything else.
