Advice on Herpes
It is difficult to answer your question because you have not stated your gender or the kind of herpes that you might be infected with. There are eight different forms of herpes and these include oral and genital herpes which are the most common forms. Genital herpes is a viral condition that is caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV-2).
The most common characteristic of genital herpes is burning sores all over your genitals. These sores usually appear in clusters and eventually dry up and crust over a period of time. You could experience pain during urination and often women experience vaginal fluid discharge. Other symptoms include itching and burning in the affected area. These symptoms do not have a pattern and could occur with no set frequency. Cold sores, or oral herpes, are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1). These sores are small blisters that appear on the lips and around the mouth. These blisters follow a pattern of enlargement, bursting, and then crusting over. You could have symptoms that resemble the symptoms of the flu. Your lips and mouth could be sore, itchy, and irritated. Tingling of the lips is also a common symptom of oral herpes. Each individual may experience different symptoms and these usually don't last longer than two weeks.
