Early Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy
The signs of becoming pregnant will always differ from woman to woman and in many cases, from one pregnancy to another. There are a number of symptoms that manifest from as early as one week after conception. A very common sign of pregnancy is a missed period.
You could also have some minor spotting/bleeding and stomach cramps. This is known as implantation bleeding and occurs within 6-10 days of the embryo being implanted in the uterus. Another early pregnancy sign is the breasts becoming swollen or tender.
You could also start feeling very tired and experience pain in the lower back region and headaches. If your pregnancy is slightly advanced, between 2-6 weeks old, you could also experience morning sickness and food cravings.
If you feel that you are suffering from any of these symptoms and you have been sexually active in the recent past, you should consult your doctor at once because if you are not pregnant, these symptoms could be indicative of another and perhaps serious problem. If you want to confirm if you are pregnant, the best way to do this is to consult your doctor and then seek an appointment with a clinical laboratory. This should be done at the earliest in case you would like the pregnancy to be terminated.
