Advice on Bedwetting Cure

Firstly, bedwetting is a very normal and common health problem for children. It is a completely involuntary reaction and bedwetting continues with girls until the age of about 6 and with boys until the age of about 7. There is nothing to worry about if your child has still not stopped wetting his bed. The exact cause of bedwetting is not known but a delay in the development of a child's bladder is the most common cause.

This condition also tends to run in the family. However, most children tend to outgrow bedwetting by themselves.

Bedwetting is a cause of great social embarrassment to the child himself and while helping your child cope with this problem, you must ensure that you do not blame or punish your child for bedwetting and hence, increase the pressure on him and make the situation worse.

You can also install an alarm in your child's bed which will detect the presence of moisture and awaken your child when his bladder is full. You should also ensure that you cover the child's mattress with a plastic cover to minimize the chances of damage or discomfort to your child. Involving your child in clean up after a bedwetting incident is also a good way to deal with the situation. You should also encourage your child to drink a lot of fluids and then not urinate for a while. This will help him control his bladder more effectively.
