Natural Treatment for Sinus Infection
A sinus infection is also known as a sinusitis. It is basically the inflammation of the sinuses or rather the cavities that are situated near the bone of the nose. The inflammation thus caused traps the mucus produced within the nasal membrane and the sinus.
This exerts a tremendous pressure on the sinus walls and thus causes the pain and discomfort that you feel. The mucus is manufactured by a membrane that lines the sides of the sinus. Therefore when the membrane develops a swelling it generally leads to an infection or allergy.
Therefore this inflammation and the blockage of mucus led to an excess development of mucus and causes that feeling of having a blocked nose. However not all discomfort felt in the sinus area is actually caused due to a sinus a infection, sometimes what seems like a sinus infection is actually a migraine.
Make sure to avoid getting a cold when you have a sinus infection as it will only help to make your symptoms worse. Make sure to eat a proper diet and exercise well as it helps keep your immune system fit. Consume a daily dose of vitamin C as it is known to have a preventive action against the pain caused by a bad sinus. If it is chronic you would need to consume a 1000 mg a day (consult your doctor before doing this).Make use of a stem inhaler to get effective relief and free up the blocked nasal passages. This will provide relief for a few hours. A steam inhaler can be purchased at your local drug store.
