Balanitis

I have been told I have BALANITIS it is not getting any worse but staying same just REDDISH. I have tried various creams. I make sure it is kept clean all the time. Any home remedy I can use to clear it. I do not want it circumcised.

Causes and Treatment for Balanitis

Balanitis basically refers simply to the inflammation of the glans penis. There can be many causes of the condition, and perhaps the reason for your condition remaining the same is something to do with the underlying cause. Personal hygiene is only one factor — balanitis can also be caused by allergies, fungal, viral, and bacterial infections, and several other health conditions, the most common of which is diabetes.

You say that you "have been told" you have balanitis and have used various creams — have this information and these prescriptions come from a doctor? If not, you should visit a doctor as soon as possible for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Your treatment may vary depending on the cause of the condition.

Although in your case, the balanitis seems to be mild, if left untreated for long it could worsen and result in other complications such as phimosis, in which the foreskin cannot be pulled back.

There is no need for you to worry about circumcision, as this is not part of the treatment for balanitis, especially in your case, where the only symptom seems to be inflammation, and no other complication such as phimosis or the glans sticking to the foreskin.
