Vaccine for Chicken Pox

Chicken pox can be a very uncomfortable disease especially for toddlers who are not aware that they must not scratch themselves. The virus is known to be very contagious and there is a high chance of infection due to contact and extreme cases of chicken pox have also be known to cause pneumonia and encephalitis. Therefore it is important that you have your child vaccinated
You mentioned that you're son has been given the MMR vaccine a month ago.

Under normal circumstances the two vaccines can be given at the same time. However since your son has only bee given the mmr shot a month ago he will have to take the chicken pox vaccine at the end of this month (the specified gap needed is a four week interval ) as the two vaccines if given separately need to administered a month after one and other. The best decision can come from consulting your doctor as to what is the course of action to be take and give you advice as to whether your son is really at risk of contracting chickenpox from his mother and what are the best possible steps to prevent from happening until the vaccine is administered.
