Cough home cures Suppressing a cough is not the best thing, as they are in fact generally good for the lungs, and the phlegm should be expelled. For this reason the cough should be allowed to run its course.
There are a number of commonly used home remedies to combat coughs that are all quite effective.
- Turmeric powder with warm milk is quite an effective remedy. Mix around one to two tea spoons of turmeric powder with a glass of warm milk. Have this mixture at least twice a day.
This is particularly effective against coughs that have a bacterial origin. - A mixture of Holy basil juice and honey is another effective remedy. Mix ten ml of pure honey with half the amount of holy basil juice and have the mixture at least twice a day.
- For a chronic cough a mixture of garlic cloves and milk is extremely effective. Crush one or two of the garlic cloves and add the powder to a glass of milk. Boil the milk well and filter the solution. You can add some sugar to it if you wish to, and have this at least twice daily. Keep this up for a week and you will notice a gradual, but great improvement.
