Natural remedies for sinus

First of all, you need to be sure that the problem is indeed sinusitis. Very often the term sinusitis is used to describe any kind of chronic headache or nasal blockage. In many cases, migraine is mistakenly referred to as sinusitis, whereas the two are quite different and require different treatments.

Sinusitis is basically an infection of the sinuses, which are empty spaces within the bones and muscles of the face. Symptoms experienced include headache, nasal congestion, pressure and pain in the face, and yellow or green nasal discharge. The pressure and pain in the face are probably the key symptoms, and if they are not present, you most probably do not have sinusitis.

Treatment of sinusitis is quite difficult — in some cases where it is chronic and no medication seems to help, surgery is the final option. It is therefore best to check with your doctor; if you have regular infections of the sinuses, there may be some underlying problem that needs to be addressed. There may be some allergic reaction too, so try to make note of whether any particular foods or other substances have any connection to your sinus attacks. As for home treatment, the best is steam inhalation; you can do this several times a day, and in addition, drink hot tea without milk, with ginger and lemongrass in it.
