Abscess tooth home cures

A tooth abscess can be a long and painful affair. If you are suffering from this trouble for more than a week, it is wiser to see a dentist and figure out the problem rather than trying to find a home remedy for it. You need to know that if you would like to try out some remedial measures at home, and they do not help in a week, you may lose your tooth without medical assistance.

Begin with sanitizing your tooth by rinsing your mouth with diluted hydrogen peroxide (one part peroxide, one part water). This will clean the surface of the tooth. Follow this with a warm salty rinse, and you will get relief from the pain momentarily.

Tea tree oil, known for its anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, will help. Put a few drops in a cup and rinse your mouth with this.

A proven method for dealing with toothache is to apply clove oil. If you cannot get your hands on clove oil, just clamp a clove down on that tooth and let it stay there. In order to numb the pain, put a few drops of vanilla or almond extract right on the tooth. Place a used chilled tea bag to your abscess. This is supposed to draw out pus from the tooth. In some cases, it is so effective that the pus will actually land in a gob on the tea bag. Please note, however, that this is not a medical procedure, and whether or not it will extract pus, you can be certain it will provide the much-needed relief.
