Jaundice is not so much a disease as it is a symptom of many diseases that results in the yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes because of high levels of bilirubin in the body. Bilirubin comes from ole red blood cells that are destroyed. When this happens, the hemoglobin (which is the iron containing chemical n red blood cells) is released from the red blood cell.

This chemical release is known as bilirubin. One of the primary functions of the liver is to produce and secrete bile into the intestines to air in the digestive process. Another chief function of the liver is to remove any kind of toxic chemicals or waste products from the blood – of which bilirubin is one such type. Once the bilirubin has been removed from the blood and it enters the liver cells, the cells mix this into the bile and it is now known as conjugated bilirubin which is eliminated in the feces. Jaundice occurs when the body has either too much bilirubin being produced for efficient removal from the blood by the river or a defective liver that prevents the removal of bilirubin from the blood. It may also be the result of a blockage of the bile ducts that decrease the flow of bilirubin from the liver to the intestines.

It is essential that you take your child to a doctor to help identify the primary cause of the condition. Once this has been established, treatment can be better focused on the root cause – thereby making it more effective. In the mean time, however, you could try some of the following home remedies that will help control the condition. Grind a few green leaves of Radish and extract the juice with the help of a straining cloth. Get your daughter to drink about a quarter liter of this juice on a daily basis as it induces a healthy appetite and the proper evacuation of the bowels which helps gradually decrease the effects of the condition. Another option is to soak about 8 kernels of almonds, 5 small cardamoms and 2 dry dates in a bowl of water over the course of the night. The next morning, remove the outer coating of the almond kernels and the inner seeds of the dry dates and grind the remaining soaked pieces together to form a paste. Add about 50 grams of sugar and an equal amount of butter and get your daughter to constantly lick this mixture over the course of the day.

Jaundice home remedies

If a child has been suffering from jaundice for three years continuously, there is something seriously wrong with her. You need to bring her to the attention of a doctor immediately. The first thing a doctor will do is confirm that the child is indeed suffering from the ailment. It is quite unlikely that she has had jaundice for such a long time. If she has a weak liver, then it becomes an entirely different matter and requires a different kind of routine and care altogether. Even in this case, the procedure of care that is followed should be one that is advised and provided by a doctor.

Something you can do at home for your child is boost her immunity. This will at least help her to fight whatever affliction is bothering her for such a long period of time. Some simple methods to follow are to give your child at least two doses of Indian gooseberry (indian gooseberry) per day. If you can find this fruit fresh, it is always the best solution. If not, it is easily available in powder form over the counter. Indian gooseberry has the highest concentration of vitamin C, which will strengthen your child's immune system considerably, thus enabling her to fight against any disease or infection.
