Burning tongue natural remedies Burning mouth, also known as Burning Mouth Syndrome, refers to the burning sensation that you experience on your tongue. In addition to this you may also notice that your mouth is dry and that you have numbness at the tip of your tongue. You may also feel unaccountably thirsty and be unable to have sense of taste.
Most people complain of this condition if they have consumed some very hot food. In some cases a yeast infection is responsible for the burning sensation that you experience. Other reasons for the burning on your tongue are certain kinds of medication, bad oral hygiene and even in some cases bad dentures.
Some people notice this burning when they are undergoing hormonal imbalances or in the middle of menopause. If your mouth burns after you have consumed something very spicy, you should first suck on a couple of ice cubes. Then you can drink some cold water. Try to gargle with the cold water, letting it stay in your mouth as long as possible. Very often chewing a piece of chewing gum helps reduce the pain and discomfort. You can also use baking soda to brush your teeth since this will cause less pain than using toothpaste.
