Black eye home remedies If you have a black eye, the best thing you can do for it is to rest it as much as possible. The eye is a very delicate organ and it needs to recover in its own time. The best way to help it along is to rest by sleeping as much as possible.
Do remember that when you wake up, the pain will seem worse due to slowed down circulation, but after a few minutes, you will certainly feel better. For care of a black eye, the best thing you can do is apply cold packs to your eye. This will help to bring down the swelling and also lighten the darkness caused by injury. Arnica oil is a very effective measure to soothe the pain caused by black eyes.
The science of Ayurveda dictates that generous quantities of papaya and pineapple will help to heal the black eye considerably, as both these products contain anti-oxidants that will move the blood pooled in the area along. Soak pads in witch hazel and place them on the entire area. This will not only draw out the pain, it will also help you to heal faster. It is always better to avoid pain killers, as they will lull you into a false sense of painlessness and aggravate your condition instead.
