Blood pressure is the amount of force that is exerted on the artery walls by the blood stream when the heart muscle contracts to pump the blood through the human body. The pressure is measured in a fractional value such as 120 / 60. This reading is considered to be the correct amount of pressure while anything above a reading of 130 / 60 is medically termed to be high blood pressure and anything below 90 / 60 is known as low blood pressure.
The first number in these fractions indicates the amount of pressure applied to the artery walls when the heart muscle is a state of contraction – thereby reflecting the higher amount of pressure. The second, smaller number, is the measurement of pressure on the artery walls when the heart muscle is relaxed.
Some of the more common symptoms of low blood pressure include weakness, lethargy and nausea as well as a significant difficulty in concentration. Low blood pressure indicates a lack of sufficient blood flow to various parts of the body including vital organs such as the heart, brain and kidneys. This could cause some malfunction of these organs as well as considerable long term damage. Individuals that suffer from high blood pressure are unlikely to experience any symptoms while the condition is developing, but will feel its full effects once the condition has completely manifested. Some of the medical problems that patients will experience include chest pain, high sleeping tendency, nervousness, severe body pain – most commonly in the head and lower part of the head, nose bleeds and an inability to control emotions.
A hot Epsom salt bath is considered to be a very effective treatment for low blood pressure and can be easily created by simply dissolving 1 to 1 ½ kilograms of commercially available Epsom salt in ordinary hot bath water and letting your body soak in it for about 20 minutes. Using this treatment just before retiring for the night is considered to be most effective.
Sufferers of high blood pressure can try taking equal amounts of honey, ginger juice and finely powdered cumin seeds and creating a mixture of which 2 or 3 teaspoons should be had daily for best results. A couple of teaspoons of juice extracted from a few onions is also known to be extremely effective in the treatment of high blood pressure. A high intake of fruits such as watermelon, papaya and grapes are known to stabilize blood pressure and are equally effective in dealing with high blood pressure as well as low blood pressure.

Information on Blood Pressure
There are two kinds of blood pressure problems. One is when you have high blood pressure, which means that the blood is flowing in your veins too quickly for comfort. The other is when you are suffering from low blood pressure, which means that your blood is flowing too slowly through your body. Any remedy would depend upon the kind of problem you are having. But a ground rule in both cases would be to follow a regular routine of exercise and proper rest to keep your blood pressure under control. For low blood pressure, you can begin with increasing your salt intake. This will ascertain the presence of salt in your body, which in turn will retain water, which will make your blood flow better and faster. Try switching to natural sea salt as opposed to table salt. You must eliminate alcohol, as this will work towards worsening your problem.
For high blood pressure, cut down on salt, fried and spicy food and meat at once. You will notice a difference within a week. Eat a couple of cloves of garlic every night before going to bed. This is considered to be one of the most highly effective remedies to normalize blood pressure. Add greens to your meals. Spinach, collard greens and mustard greens are very good remedies for reducing blood pressure.
