Advice on Yeast Infection

You haven’t specified what symptoms you are experiencing and where exactly this yeast infection has affected you, so it is a little difficult to provide much information. However, I assume that you are referring to a vaginal yeast infection. The infection most commonly referred to as a “yeast infection” is candidiasis, and more specifically vaginitis, which is a type of candidiasis.

Patients typically experience burning and itching in the vagina and the vaginal area, along with vaginal discharge and an unpleasant odor. It is usually a good idea to get yourself diagnosed by a doctor, as other infections and disorders can also have similar symptoms, and the effectiveness of any treatment will depend on a correct diagnosis.

To successfully treat a yeast infection, it is essential that you keep yourself clean and dry at all times.

Wash yourself carefully with plain water several times a day, and dry yourself thoroughly each time. Avoid using soap on the vaginal area more than once a day, and use only soft, uncolored, unscented toilet paper. You should also wear cotton clothes as far as possible, and drink plenty of water daily. If this does not show results within two or three days, then you should visit your doctor for a diagnosis and perhaps stronger treatment.
