Fair and healthy complexion remedies Skin color is something that is genetic, and there is not much that you can do apart from avoiding a tan. You cannot make your skin lighter than it naturally is, but to some extent you can prevent it from becoming darker by avoiding exposing it to the sun too much. Use a sunscreen or appropriate clothes whenever you need to go out in the sun.
Remember though that some amount of exposure to the sun is necessary for the body to be healthy, so do not overdo it in your quest for fairness.
Maintaining a clear complexion is however something that is within your control to a large extent. It is important first of all to keep your skin clean.
Wash regularly, but do not use soap more than a few times a day, and as far as possible, use a mild soap that does not dry your skin. If your skin tends to be dry, you should use a moisturizer, preferably applying it immediately after bathing. You can also apply a face pack a couple of times a week, using a mixture of milk, honey, turmeric powder, and sandalwood powder. You can use the same paste on your body if you like. In addition, you should take up some daily exercise, as this will do more to make your skin clear and glowing than any face pack or cosmetics.
