Smelly burps remedies In most cases, burping is simply the expulsion of gas that has been swallowed when eating or drinking, usually because these activities have been performed too fast, and sometimes because whatever was eaten or drunk contained gas — aerated drinks, for example. However, if your burps smell (or taste) like sulfur or rotten eggs, there is more going on than just swallowing air. If the problem occurs only occasionally, it may just be due to indigestion or gas, which will clear up on their own, but a frequent problem with smelly burps indicates a bigger problem with your stomach.
Try to notice whether these burps occur when you consume certain foods — an allergy to milk products is one possibility. If you notice any connection, try stopping consumption of that product and see if there is an improvement. There is also the possibility of a stomach infection or an ulcer.
You can also try taking antacids, and in addition, cut down on oily and spicy food, alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco, and make sure that you are drinking enough water every day. If these remedies do not help or if you experience other symptoms like nausea or vomiting, you should visit a doctor as soon as possible.
