Teeth whitening home remedies You can follow various remedies at home if you wish to whiten your teeth. But it is important that you know that you must not persist in following any remedy on a daily basis, as this has the possibility of causing permanent enamel damage to your teeth. It is also essential to know that once your enamel has ruptured and started going, there is nothing you can really do to bring it back.
Try some natural remedies for whiter teeth. Though these may take a while, at least they will not cause damage of large magnitude. Strawberries contain oxides that will help to whiten your teeth naturally.
Try to eat plenty, or better still, rub your teeth with a strawberry paste. This will help, though it may take a while. You can also scrub your teeth with a mix of lime and salt to lighten their color. Don't do this more than thrice a week, and wait at least a couple of months before you start seeing results. You can use a mixture of one part hydrogen peroxide and one part water to brush your teeth twice a week. Baking soda is also instrumental in whitening teeth. Rub it on your teeth for about a couple of minutes once a week. Try not to use it more often, as it has a tendency to corrode your enamel.

Teeth whitening home remedies While some people are born with slightly yellowish teeth, some have teeth with a slightly mottled look because of ingestion of too much fluoride in infancy. Teeth can also become slightly yellowish due to consumption of tobacco, caffeine and even highly pigmented foods such as berries. Accumulation of tartar over a period of time which leads to building up of plaque can also lead to yellowing and sometimes it is simply an effect of ageing. In order to prevent your teeth from yellowing, follow a strict dental hygiene routine, brushing and flossing twice a day. Get a dental cleaning regularly to clean away the stains on your teeth and to ensure there is no build-up of plaque or germs. Don't try to remove the stains with your teeth since this will only remove the enamel and adversely affect your teeth.
Contrary to popular belief, lemon is actually harmful for your teeth. Even if it whitens your teeth due to its natural bleaching powers, it simultaneously attacks the enamel and calcium content of your teeth. The same applies to other remedies containing Vitamin C. Instead you should rub your teeth with a little baking soda or mix bi-carbonate soda in your toothpaste before brushing. You could also try rubbing charcoal or the bark of a walnut tree on your teeth to remove stains. You can gargle, rinsing your teeth thoroughly with a small capful of peroxide but remember not to ingest it. Drink plenty of water after every meal to wash away any remnants of food lodged between your teeth as well as food stains. Also gargle regularly using salt water to kill any germs. The best way is to eat plenty of crunchy fruits and vegetables like carrots, broccoli, celery and apples.
