Dry Feet Home Remedies Dry feet during summer are a particularly challenging problem to take care of. If you moisturize excessively, they will sweat and cause bad odor. If you moisturize too little, they will itch and present you with your current problem – the inability to live with the discomfort.
Under normal circumstances, there could be many lotions that may have been useful, but in your case, it would be better to stick to other natural remedies instead.
The first thing to do is to start wearing light and thin cotton socks on your feet. This will ensure that your feet do not sweat, and if they do, the sweat is absorbed so that it does not stick around and cause bad odor, which will only aggravate your situation. After bathing, apply a very thin layer of olive oil on your feet, and then wear the socks. This will ensure that your feet receive the moisture and lubrication they require to get rid of the itchiness. You must repeat the same exercise before going to bed at night as well. You should also increase your water intake, as this will help you generally battle the problem of dry skin. For excessive itchiness, you can also apply a paste made of sandalwood and rose water to provide relief.

Foot care remedies The main cause for dry feet is poor nutrition which has a direct effect on the skin, leading to dryness and itching. Sometimes an allergic reaction to a particular skin product or simply using a product of bad quality can have adverse effects on the skin and cause dry, itchy feet. Always opt for products that are not very harsh on the skin and have rich moisturisers in them to ensure that your feet receive the best care. Apart from this, ensure that your diet includes plenty of fruits and vegetables high in water content so that your body is well hydrated and this naturally moisturised.
After washing your feet with a mild shampoo or soaking them in a bucket of warm water to clean and soften the skin, apply a lotion on them and encase them in cotton socks to seal in the moisture and prevent them from coming into contact with dirt. Regularly exfoliate the skin of your feet, particularly the heels, using a foot file easily available to any local pharmacist. Avoid rubbing or squeezing your feet too much. Opt for comfortable footwear that does not expose your feet to the sun and the dirt and always wear cotton socks. If the above mentioned tips and sticking to a good hygiene routine for your feet does not help, consult a dermatologist.
