Home remedies for whooping cough

I suppose you mean whooping cough not hooping cough. Very often we get an infection or we manage to breathe in dust. This irritates the lining of the throat and this is what causes us to cough.

Coughing tires a person out and often makes it difficult to sleep well at night. If your cough persists for a long period of time and shows no signs of improving, you should consult a doctor since this could be an indication of some other medical condition and require attention.

For you cough you can try gargling with some water.

Adding either salt or some turmeric powder will also give you relief. You should avoid eating cold food like ice creams and soft drinks. Try to eat food that is warm and water that is not cold. Stay away from yogurt, buttermilk and cold juices.

You can chop a medium sized onion and squeeze  it to extract the juice. Mix the juice of the onion with equal quantities of honey. Keep this aside for a couple of hours. After this you can drink it at frequent intervals.  You can also add a pinch of turmeric powder to your bedtime cup of warm milk.
