Hypotonia causes and remedies Hypotonia, also known as low muscle tone, is a medical condition that affects children. As you can guess from the name, this affects the muscles of the child. A child suffering from Hypotonia lacks the muscle to perform all the activities that a child of their age is capable of carrying out.
Although hypotnia is usually found in children suffering from other medical conditions, like Down's syndrome, it is not uncommon to find children who suffer from this condition. This is a condition that affects children from birth. However, doctors believe that by the time children affected by Hypotonia reach the age of nine, their condition improves.
Cerebral palsy is a general term that refer to any neurological disorder that affect children in their infancy. These disorders can cause permanent damage by affecting the movement of the body and also play havoc with the muscle coordination in the child. This condition is caused by some kind of abnormalities that exist in the part of the brain that controls the movement of the muscles.
You should consult your child's doctor about treatment for this medical condition. It has been found that if children are given treatment early enough they can go on to led normal lives later on. Your doctor should be able to give you information about and educate you about the physical and occupational therapy. There are also various medicines that can help control seizures or relax the spasms that hold the muscles.
