Women ovulation advice The straight answer to your question would be “no”. A lot of women get regular periods, but it is not necessary that they ovulate every month as well. The process of ovulation means that the body has released an egg, which should be ready to fertilize.
The process should take about 29 days, but this is just a text book statistic. It can take any amount of time, less than 28 days or more than a month, or maybe even more than that. Commonly, the typical signs of ovulation include the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Tenderness in breasts, general bloating and swelling, distended abdomen, depression and mood swings are just some of the common symptoms. If you are not ovulating, these symptoms may sometimes be absent.
If you are having regular periods and not ovulating, it could be that you are on some type of birth control pill, or that you have some disorder which is preventing ovulation from occurring. Generally ovulation problems could occur because of weight problems (excessive gain or loss), diabetes, physical or psychological stress, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCO) or thyroid problems. These are just a few of the causes. There may be others which may be determined or ruled out by a medical examination.
