Toothache alternative remedies If the toothache is very bad you should visit the doctor as soon as possible. Tooth aches can be caused by a variety of reasons. An abscessed tooth could cause pain, so could an infected tooth.
Getting professional advice is a good idea. In the meanwhile you can try these simple home remedies for some relief.
Use some hot water for some relief.
You can dip a towel into hot water and use this against the side of your face that hurts. Doing this a few times will give you relief and also bring down any swelling that you have. Gargling with warm water is also beneficial. You can add a few grains of salt to the water and then use this. Cold water is another choice for gargling; Turmeric can also be uses since this has antiseptic properties. Chewing cloves is beneficial in this condition. If you happen to have some clove oil, you can put a few drops of this on a piece of cotton and place this on the tooth that hurts. If you gums hurt, you can mix a few grains of common salt with a pinch of turmeric and use this to massage your gums.
Tea bags are used to draw out the pain of the tooth. You can either pour hot water on a chamomile tea bag and then use it on your tooth or use a teabag that has been dampened.
