Fingernail fungus advice Fungi do spread from person to person contact, so you should probably avoid holding the infected person's hands until he/she is cured of the infection. There are several ways to get rid of a fungal infection. Here is a list of home remedies which are specifically meant to deal with fingernail fungus:
- Take one teaspoon of baking soda in one glass of water in the morning every day.
Don't eat or drink anything for one hour after that. This is a remedy that costs practically nothing and has no known side effects. - Dip a cotton earbud in teatree oil and apply it under and on top of the affected nail.
Teatree oil is well known for its antifungal properties - Applying some Vicks vaporub to the affected area may help clean up the infection.
- Taking a garlic, olive leaf extract, or Grapeseed extract as a supplement may help clear up a fungal infection as all of the above are good natural anti-fungals.
- Another recommended measure is drinking two tablespoons of Apple Cedar Vinegar with water, twice a day. This helps treat fungus.
- Applying white vinegar to the infected area with a cotton swab twice every day may also help.
